The NCRU Men's Collegiate All-Star team finished 2nd at the South All-Star tournament in Clumbus, GA.
In its first match, NCRU defeated the Georgia Rugby Union 12-10. Four Wake ruggers started the match- Tyler Eure, flyhalf and captain, Michael Duffy, hooker, Christian Jewett, lock, and Timo Kawira, wing. Wake players Matt Storck, flanker, and Steve McMillen, wing, came on in the second half and helped the NCRU to a come from behind victory. Timo Kawira scored a first half try and the NCRU's second try was set up when Christian Jewett took the ball off the base of the ruck near midfield and went 20 meters before offloading to the NCRU #8 for a try between the posts with 3 minutes left in the match. That try knotted the score at 10 apiece and flyhalf Eure calmly slotted the conversion to give the NCRU the lead and the victory.
In the championship match the NCRU was beaten by the MidSouth 26-5. Once again all six Wake representatives played in the match.
